Our director, Joe Gervin, took on the iconic London Marathon and not only finished but smashed it with an amazing time of 2:58:44!
In what turned out to be a scorching day in the capital, Joe powered through the challenging conditions, crossing the finish line in an impressive 2678th place out of a staggering 56,640 runners. And, this year's marathon was record-breaking in more ways than one, achieving a Guinness World Record for the most finishers – making Joe's achievement even more remarkable.
But Joe's incredible feat wasn't just about personal triumph. He was running with a purpose, raising vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity incredibly close to his heart and so far he has raised an impressive £3267.
Joe sadly lost his father to this devastating disease just a few short months after his diagnosis. Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to transforming the future for people affected by pancreatic cancer. They fund crucial research to improve diagnosis and treatment, provide invaluable support and information to patients and their families, and campaign for greater awareness of this often-overlooked disease. The urgency of their work cannot be overstated, and the funds raised by individuals like Joe make a tangible difference to those facing this difficult journey.
Joe's initial goal was around the 2:55 mark, hoping for a personal best achieved at the Dublin Marathon. However, the intense heat made for an exceptionally tough race. Despite the challenging conditions, he not only finished well within his target but achieved a phenomenal sub-3-hour time.
Speaking after the race, Joe shared his elation: "I am absolutely delighted with how it went. The conditions out there were brutal, so to come in under three hours and achieve this time feels like a real win. Knowing that every step I took was also helping to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, a cause that means so much to me, made it all the more worthwhile. I'm so grateful to everyone who sponsored me; your support truly means the world."
Joe's incredible dedication and effort, both in his training and his fundraising, are truly inspiring. He has the spirit and determination we admire here at LPS Real Estate.
There's still time to show your support for Joe's incredible achievement and contribute to the vital work of Pancreatic Cancer UK. If you'd like to donate, please head to the link in bio: https://2025tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/joseph-gervin.
